Hitchin Lavender Fields – Engagement Shoot
Hitchin Lavender is a lavender farm attraction in Hertfordshire. There’s around 25 miles of lavender rows. The lavender had bloomed and was at it’s prime, perfect for our photo shoot!
I had wanted to go here for an engagement shoot for a while. Finally I had the opportunity to go, but it just happened to be one of the hottest days of the year. Its a great place to visit, you can just turn up and pay £6, they give you a pair of scissors and a brown paper bag and you can fill it with as much fresh lavender as you like. (If you wanted to do a professional engagement shoot there like me, it does cost £50 per photographer)
When we all arrived it did not disappoint, the lavender fields looked like the photos I had seen on the site. Beautiful rows of wonderful scented lavender flowers. I had to get over my fear of bees very quickly. There are hundreds of them AAARRRGH! Lucky the lavender kept them busy so I can focus on my engagement shoot.
We had a break inside the 17th century barn. While the couple had an outfit change. The ice cream went down a treat!
I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in Nottingham at Kelham hall and country park!
